This event is held in honor of Rosalie “Birdie” Murrey, who would have been turning seven this year. The Looff Carrousel was one of Rosalie’s favorite places, making it the perfect setting for a celebration that reflects her spirit of joy and inclusivity. Hosted by the Rosalie Murrey Memorial Foundation, this event is part of our mission to fundamentally change early childhood learning opportunities for children with disabilities. Our work continues through Birdie’s Nest, a future full-day therapeutic early learning center dedicated to creating a more inclusive and accessible educational experience for all children.

“The event gave us the opportunity for each of our children to enjoy the Carrousel to their best ability. The low lights and quiet music eliminated some of the extra stimulation and stress for our daughter. The calm down rooms with crayons, coloring, tattoos, and sensory toys were the perfect reset between rides on the Carrousel. We love that our family could participate in a Spokane favorite spot when we otherwise wouldn’t be able to.”
